The theme tunes for dead or retired TT characters. An archive of Songs/ThemeTunes

aquarion/Panama gets "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley, specifically the cover by Twang: [1]

aquarion/Satrah gets "Cruisin'" by Jared Emerson-Johnson. On. Constant. Loop. [2]

Porange/Professor E Greenheel When angry has On the Rise from Dr Horrible, mostly for the general feel (without the evil), when happy has penny's part from the same song. "Brand New Day" from Dr Horrible has also started to fit, as has "Sword of Damocles" and "Les Jours Tristes"

Kiyah/KiramEasterner gets all of the Holy Wars album by Savage. I was just going to write this on her page... great minds ^^ I listen to it before I leave every dratted week. Also, to be honest, a lot of James' Stutter would fit too.

Winterlove/Evelyn as of early 1291 has "I Can't Decide" by Scissor Sisters. There is a hefty amount of bleak irony in this choice.

I can't decide whether you should live or die - oh, you'll prob'ly go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry...

Locksmith/RosamundArundel currently has "Keys of Canterbury" by Show of Hands, and "My Lady Sleeps" by Mediaeval Baebes., plus many more.

Locksmith/Heresy Smith has "Misery Loves Company", by Emilie Autumn, plus an extensive playlist.

Porange/BlackMolly has "Stand and Deliver" by Adam and the Ants. Because it just feels right. For the attitude "if your kisses won't hold the man you love" by Rasputina. Is veering horribly towards "Reviewing the situation" from Oliver!

Jacob/Galwyn, being a musician, gets a variety of tunes/songs. There are a bunch of sad/angry hornpipes in E minor that I associate with him - basically anything that the Witchmen, Boggart's Breakfast, Bittersweet Border etc dance to (lots of it is on youtube!) is in his idiom. Also, annoyingly, the song "Consider yourself at home" from Oliver seems to have attached itself to him & his tribe in my mind, even though I don't much like it. Possibly it's the song for them, and he sits there brooding moodily through it...

Delvy/EdwindeLacey? "The Man I Was" by Show of Hands, "when drinking in some bar in town, I was no tender stranger, no desert ranger, no sturdy farmer, no knight in armour..." and "I fought the law" by the Clash

Zebbie/ElizabethofGedhrent "Supreme" by Robbie Williams - the lyrics aren't especially well-suited (though OK) but the music is just the right sound to back a montage. "Is there a tumour in your humour, are there bags under your eyes?" and "Viva La Vida:Death and all his friends" by Coldplay: "One minute I held the key, next the walls were closed on me and I discovered that my castles stand, on pillars of salt and pillars of sand". "Worried About Ray^W Anubis" by the Hoosiers (Anubis is ALMOST CERTAINLY Bast, honest) and "Red" by Daniel Merriweather also feature strongly.

Stoat/Periwinkle? - I hate to say this as I am gong to get so badly ribbed for it. In her first incarnation (under another name) she was inspired by "Dangerous" by Roxette. It's kind of stuck and weirdly enough, it does suit her. Perky, bouncy, totally facile ... and yet a little bit dangerous ...

Stoat/Ned? - A song to inspire Ned? There isn't one. However, I do think that most of Faure's "Requiem" would do him. Or possibly the ending of the final act of "Die Walkurie"... but that is far too beautiful to meet his twisted mind. And if not those, anything by Mahler (the depressed bastard).

ChessyPig/MithrilThuragood acquired a theme tune - People Are Like Suns by Crowded House.

Malselene/Ceyl currently has "Until the End" by Breaking Benjamin and is also stealing Les Jours Tristes (except not stealing as that would be against the law)

fyrheafoc/Miriam gets Mein Herr from Cabaret and Winterborn by the Cruxshadows

Oh, *hell* yes on 'Mein Herr.' --Locksmith
she has now also acquired Les Jours Tristes --Fyrheafoc
She now has Les Jours Tristes (by divine comedy) Winterborn (by the Cruxshadows) and I Am Stretched On Your Grave (by Kate Rusby)
Terribly sorry, but I recently heard "I believe in Miracles" by Hot Chocolate (the infamous Full Monty song) and thought of Miriam. ;) --Zebbie

Richard/JeeCinnamon is quite exhausting to play but I think about "White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane" and that generally gets me in the right frame of mind. Also that awful early electronic / avant-gard / Dadaist anti-music stuff works as well.

Malselene/Ealusaid had "Will you go, lassie, go?"

Zebbie/ArgusFenugreek "Goodbye Mr A" by the Hoosiers. "Your love is a fraction, it's not adding up". Also 'Leave Right Now' by Will Young "Please explain, why you're opening up a healing wound again. I'm a little more careful, perhaps it shows, but if I lose the highs at least I'm spared the lows"

Dot had [this playlist].

Setanta vaguely had [Looking After #1] by the Boomtown Rats.

Pufferfish/LucieRivers (retired) finally got a song for when, er, off-duty. Except I bet none of you will have ever heard of it, and THE LYRICS AREN'T ON THE INTERNET, RARGH. Still, it's Leader by Stygian Veil, and there definitely isn't a copy of it at www.srcf.ucam.org/~rjw76/music/ . Especially the final verse :-)

I think Valtiel/Virgil probably gets "All the madmen" by David Bowie.

Taxellor/Elnir has "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from the Peer Gynt Suit. Had Butterflies and Hurricanes by Muse. 'Mr Tambourine Man' has started to remind me of Elnir, maybe it is just the bit about 'laughin', spinnin' swingin' madly across the sun'.--Zebbie

TimB/Alric went through many songs. Citadel by the Cruxshadows for most of his time, but ending with Crash by Mesh and One Level Down by Rotersand.

Locksmith/DionSilverlink has "Evensong" by Keith Christmas. It's very evocative of his mindset, more for the music than the lyrics, mostly. I couldn't quite say why. Beautiful song. Of course, AngryDion? has "Epiphany" from Sweeney Todd. We all deserve to die. ;)

# There have been some hard and broken times / With nothing good to mark their leaving... #

Androidkiller/Matt probably fits "Mr Brightside" by the Killers quite well. It's not very accurate, but the theme of your love vanishing and still being upbeat fits Matt well.

Requiem/Sesqui gets the Gladiator soundtrack. Especially the third track.

ChessyPig/TheaChalice is currently something like Goodbye, Goodnight by Jars of Clay (lyrics available from all good search engines). It's not exactly right but it's as close as I can find.

ChessyPig/SilkaFitzwalters is definitely something on Evanescence - Origin, but I'm not sure which one.

ChessyPig/CharridyKender was partially inspired by I'm In The Way by Jars of Clay.

There's a psychedelic folk rock ballad from Judy Henske and Jerry Yester's album "Farewell Aldebaran" called "Charity" that always makes me think of her. --Jacob

ChessyPig/BrunhildeTheBrewer 's story ended up like Something Beautiful (also Jars of Clay).

Zebbie/EstherRye has Queen's "Seven Seas of Rhye" - filk lyrics on her page. :) It actually fitted her exploits very closely (this might be partly because I already knew the song lyrics at the start of playing her).

Zebbie/LisalotteGuyer has "The Greatest Love Of All" by Whitney Houston (She really really does believe that the Children are our future...). However, she was *inspired* by Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf (Oh baby you're the only thing in this whole world that's pure and good and right, wherever you are and wherever you go, there's always gonna be some Light). "Hey There Delilah" also reminds me of her father (until he recently died in a volcano, oops :p). Winterborn by the Cruxshadows suited her death very well (and let's not even go there with 'Tainted Love'...'I'm sorry, I don't pray that way'). :)

Kiyah/Maellivae has James' What For and Voltaire's Irresponsible, only with less malic

Garuda/Borric could be "The Battering Ram", perhaps, although probably not to his face.

Jacob/Aellin? has "Thomas the Rhymer", as performed by Steeleye Span.

Bluebottle/Mary's theme changed a few times while she was played (I have a playlist full of the damn things). Her death song is "The Escapist" by Nightwish; previous ones were "Mary's Present" by The Men They Couldn't Hang, "Replica" by Sonata Arctica, and "Snow White Queen" by Evanescence.

Jacob/SirGeorgeGalfrese has "Stars", Inspector Javert's solo from "Les Miserables".

Pufferfish/SarahMoreton finally got a theme tune- or at least the angel she became did. It has to be The Mission by Royal Hunt, though I often find myself thinking of her when listening to any of their stuff.

Porange/Nocta Lebbeck Gets "By the skin of my teeth" by Duke Special. I think her death gets: "Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire", "Firestarter" or possibly "Eternal flame"

TheKremlin/VladimirKarchev could have any of a number of songs; "Girls Girls Girls" or "Wild Side" by Motley Crue work pretty well; as does "Fast and Loose" by Motorhead. Most of AC/DC is also good; especially "Shoot to Thrill", "Back in Black" and "TNT". "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" also works to some extent; and the riff is gorgeous.

Joey/Lorelei Has had "Fly with the Black Swan" by Sonata Arctica since char gen.

Malselene/Susann has Assassin and CIty of Delusions by Muse. "Justify my reasons with your blame"

Cygnet had [The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel,] and [Fallen Leaves by Billy Talent] for death.

Locksmith/NellFarley has adopted 'High on a Hill' by Kate Rusby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX_2NLrF484&feature=related

Bluebottle/Ellie has "If You Love Someone Set Them on Fire" by the Dead Milkmen and, for more serious times, "Wildfire" by Sonata Arctica.

Bluebottle/Sophie has "Die With Your Boots On" - the Sonata Arctica cover, though I'm informed the Iron Maiden original may be better.

The Iron Maiden original is far superior. In almost every way. But yeah - I think it is a good choice :D -- Stoat

Entimix/LuciusPeters currently has no theme tune. He previously had "Accidentally In Love" by Counting Crows (Shrek 2 opening titles theme), and "All I Want Is You" (pinched from Nell).

Tristan/Jeremiah? is someone I would nominate for 'Head ike a Hole' by NIN. "Bow down before the one you serve. You're gonna get what you deserve..."

MarcusPendelthwaite gets Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning Pidgeons in the Park"

Porange/Tyb was inspired by "When you're evil" by Voltaire

Porange/Marrick has "Something Better" from muppet treasure island. Also Little People from les Miserables and now "i'm a knight" from horrible histories

Zebbie/DarcyNottingham "The Fear" by Lily Allen..."I want to be rich and I want lots of money, I don't care about clever, I don't care about funny" and "22" from the same album. Also about half of the Evita soundtrack, especially "Rainbow High" and "The Money Kept Rolling In (and Out)".

TheKremlin/JimmyPriest has "Sin City" by AC/DC.

Ruthilda Arundel isn't a PC really. But she just adopted "One More" by Turisas and I had to let her. It's a very Humacti song. --Pufferfish

Valtiel's characters and NPCs don't tend to have theme songs (although if anybody can think of ones that fit, I'll be very happy), but "Lullaby" by The Cure is the song for the Nightmares.

Malselene/Ari has "Let the bodies hit the floor" by Drowning Pool and "Darkangel (Azrael remix)" by VNV Nation "All the years I walked unknown, behind the faces I assumed."

Drac/Glenn is taking a like to Rob Zombies "Never Gonna Stop Me"

Drac/Cal NIN - Head Like a Hole and possibly also Starfuckers. He has declared the official mercenary theme tune to be Jack O Shadows.

And, of course, there's /BedlamBoys?.

Tea/Melissa is [Perpetual] by VNV Nation

Kelpie/Dara Kansas-Wayward Son 'There'll be peace when you are done'

Kelpie/Freki gets 'One of Us' by Heather Dale. Each step was a start for her.

TimB/Kormak can have 'Forever' by Bruderschaft.

Elspeth turned out to be [Spectator] by the Cruxshadows.

Kelpie/Sorrel doesn't really find one, but porange seemed to think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ekOznhZkhU

Kelpie/Vala has ['Twice around the Island'] ('I don't know where I hid the treasure....') and also now [Land Down Under] because REASONS, OCEANIA SHAPED REASONS

Porange/Iska? has "Take me or leave me" from rent

William Oliver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtLwsd3i6v0 A Wizard's Staff Has a Knob On the End. Because it does. And It is purple.

Krsto's theme tune was, from the very beginning, [Can I Play With Madness] by Iron Maiden.

Porange/Alferwen has One Jump Ahead from Aladdin and now "I can't decide" by the scissor sisters and now "I'm still here" from Treasure Planet and "son of man" from tarzan

Porange/BathoryMcAllister has "Stars" from Les Miserables also seems to have acquired "hellfire" from hunchback of notre dame and "rest in peace" from buffy (also arguably "going through the motions"...) Also in her final weeks "Brand new day" from Dr Horrible

Pia/Aana http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekiyWWb10-s Seems accurate?

Nyeti/SirAsher had [His Leaf Shall Not Wither], arranged by Orphaned Land.

Kelpie reckons the Kings Crossbow Guard should have had [All For One]
