She is somewhat paranoid, thinks all Humacti are necromancers (her village had a run in with Vivamortians pretending to be Humacti) and is inherently trusting of whatever people tell her.
No concept of cause and effect.

She was most probably an extremely gifted mage... once. Something has happened to her that has caused her to lose her mind and a lot of her ability (quite likely one too many fireballs to the head).
Nocta has performed 2 rituals (both without permission), the first was impromtue and involved Fyodor and Inferner the other fire mages. It did not end well and they all left the bar very swiftly (it was a tea ritual. With metal cups) The second ritual can best be explained from Nocta's viewpoint:
The human mind is like a machine. If you are insane then it must be broken, at least in part. If the mind is broken then it must have part of the mind of another grafted to it to repair it to full sanity. The most logical donor would be a demon, as their lives are of little value being not terribly nice creatures. If one was to become possessed by a demon during a ritual and then retain sufficient control to banish it once more then it would be feasable that the parts of the mind missing from the human would remain from the mind of the demon and so sanity would be restored. This is obviously an important area of research. a Then there were 4 more rituals she was involved in... being the party ritual mage on an adventure to Atlantis.
Nocta, having being told that she is insane one too many times now thinks that she is insane, and so deemed herself a willing subject for this ritual, which she duitifully performed using her own blood. She was then possessed by a blue and yellow demon, declared herself lord of the nether hells and was promptly knocked unconcious and depossessed. The demon hopped happily to a nearby Child of the Light.
Nocta was carted off to a nice cell in the Warlock's jail, and is now no longer allowed her focus or to go out without a minder.
By some weird quirk of fate has ended up running for mayor.
Died in a ritual, conducted for the greater good at the giant all powerful Ley Nexus in Atlantis. In other words sold soul to Kakatal in exchange for burning down the temple of Humact. Burned alive and concious for 7 hours before dying. Made a brief appearance as a fire elemental, which Ceyl tried to arrest.
