Alferwen Greyfinger, or more technically Alferwen Bysllywd, but no one could pronounce that, is a 16 (and a bit!) year old skaven hailing from Cymru, having relocated to Grantabrugge a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately for the general population of the city of Grantabrugge Alferwen is the child of a Bard, horribly impressionable, and as such took all the stories of Daring Do he spun them completely to heart. This has led them to desire nothing more than to be a mighty Hero! Like the ones of Legend! They are pretty sure they wouldn't be very good at it, but it's trying really, really hard that counts, and they can still be really, really helpful to all the Heros! Cos there's this pub you see, where everyone knows Heroes drink...
Aside from occassional forays involving bardic exuberance, a few of the stories being of the sort Alferwen was not entirely sure should have been told to small children, they had a rather strict upbringing with a terribly serious mother. Unfortunately this has led to them never being told the difference between girls and boys, because that could lead to Impure Thoughts. And a general attitude of they don't have to worry about which they are until after they are married.
So, being easily led, upon entering the city of Grantabrugge they joined a gang of petty thieving urchins, unfortunately they are both clumsy and pathologically honest, leading to getting caught, letting out rather too much information about the other Urchins and then getting shouted at a Lot when they eventually got back to their gang and being rather ceremoniously getting chucked out.
They are scared of Temples, because priests are really scary and look at them funny and then tell them to go away, especially the johnites. Which wouldn't be a problem except that they seem to be a Johnite priest. Admittedly on this front they don't quite seem to have worked out what they are doing and asking them to cast a miracle is rather a gamble
Has tendencies towards kleptomania and no clue when the admission of being a thief is a bad plan.
Has defeated a red demon a single combat. They are quite insistant that they didn't cheat and that Ardan had not softened it up first.
