Rosamund is the daughter and youngest child of William Arundel, second Earl of Lincoln. Fragile as a child and never expected to live for very long, she was brought up mostly by her nannies and tutors, her mother too afraid of growing too attached to her to see much of her. Naturally studious, Rosamund saw little of the outside world, and spent most of her life with her books. At the age of twenty she announced her desire to study magic to her parents, who after some argument, reluctantly agreed to allow her to enroll in the Grey College in Grantabrugge.
Rosamund is physically very weak, but she does not take kindly to having this pointed out to her. The last couple of years have seen her do lots of magical research, some of it ill-advised, and eventually attain the rank of Master in the Grey college. Notable such ill-advised research includes being infected with an arcanophage, helping research a cure, discovering what happens if a miracle is cast on you mid-ritual (not her fault), discovering what happens when you condition a base with magic and spirit simultaneously (definitely her fault), accidentally summoning a demon 'god', going on a mission to somewhere Slavic to smite undead - ahem, I mean, as a largely useless Mirrorlink technician. Other adventures of note involve a lot of anti-frailty potions, eg. waltzing off to Caledonia to poke a magic rock, and ending up with crowning two kings of Albion in the same day, a knighthood, and a bastard of an alchemical comedown on the trip home. A similar such excursion ended with her lying unconscious on a battlefield in Hibernia, alone, til her Heroic Rescue! by Mickey and Tallis, of all people. Unfortunately it transpired that this was in fact not Rosamund, but rather the Witch Queen of Hibernia possessing Rosamund's body, ensuring that Hilarity Ensued during the three months of the possession, ending in having her soul eaten by a demon in a botched attempt to put it back in her body. Traumatised mage is traumatised.
Somehow - the gods only know how - Rosamund is still alive, thanks to the efforts of many PCs, notably Panama, Lucius, Evelyn and Greenheel among many others. She is now the proud owner of a mechanical heart. More recent ill-advised adventures involved defeating the Sorrow of War on her second attempt, with help from Oorlog who stopped it hitting her while she blasted it; being largely responsible for causing the structural collapse of the Wessex Arms by playing with a red button labelled "Do not push"; and falling flat on her face a lot in the effort to get rid of the curse of the Midwife on her family line. Rosamund married Edwin de Lacey in the summer of 1293; their daughter Lucia was born later that year.
In the summer of 1294, Rosamund received a letter informing her of the death of her one remaining brother in the Battle of Buckingham's Fall, and that as such she was the sole heir to the Earldom of Lincoln. Rosamund has therefore been obliged to tie up her affairs in Grantabrugge, resign her post at the Grey College, and return to Lincoln with her husband Edwin to take up her duties. She promises to keep in touch, and fully intends to keep up the magic, but she fears she won't be able to return in the near future.
