Requiem/Sesqui

Spirit of Humact, currently in direct service to Humact.

Born James Fishman to some currently undefined parents in an undefined village somewhere in the South of the kingdom (hence the accent). Was given the nickname Sesqui (Romish for one-and-a-half) by a dwarven friend of the family. As a youngster, witnessed the deaths of his parents and many of their compatriots in an heroic last stand against a necromancer and his minions, defending the Humacti shrine where Sesqui and the other children were barricaded. Was taken in by the priest of the shrine and raised in the Humacti faith; he dealt with his pain and loss by focusing it as one would temper a blade, into a cold hatred of the undead and all who would practice necromancy. The priest recommended him to the Synod in Londinium once he was of age, where he was taken in and trained. The priests found him very enthusiastic and willing to learn, even if he was not perhaps the most able of students.

Was sent to Grantabrugge from the Synod in Londinium upon passing basic spiritual instruction and boot camp, with the enigmatic advice that "You should be needed there." Went to the local bar on the second evening he was there; that evening, the bar was attacked by the walking dead. Sesqui decided he'd found his task while in the city; he guarded the bar from undead in the name of Humact every Friday night.

Eventually he died, in an unremarkable back alley, because he trusted the wrong person. Looking back on his life, the spirit that was Sesqui is not displeased. He left the world a better place than he found it, and he died with honour.

Died at the age of twenty; his birthday was the fourteenth of November.

The holy symbol of Humact is a straight dagger or sword. He had a black brand of this on his right arm, and also wore a pendant bearing this design.

Sesqui is dead, dead dead dead dead dead dead dead dead dead, and happy that way. He died with his boots on, trying to slay one necromancer too many. The manner of his death was interesting, in that he prayed to Humact for assistance and that assistance came in the form of instant death. There was very little left.

DEEDS OF SESQUI
He slew four necromancers; his greatest deed to date is the slaying of the necromancer Antenor, called the Black, which was accomplished shortly after he regained his honour in Humact's eyes - the credit for that kill was not his alone, but he laid the body to rest.
He also took a part in the slaying of the demon known as the Tormentor, 'Tormy' to his friends and family, who was plaguing the city in the spring.
He started the nefarious organisation 'Knives of Humact'.
His last act may have been responsible for the destruction of the mandolin.

He currently owns

 A cloud (black)
 A harp (black)
 A halo (also black)
A sword, which is probably painted on his forehead

EPITAPH Sesqui has a tombstone somewhere in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It reads:
 JAMES SESQUI
 1269-1288
 RECEIVED THE REWARD OF VIRTUE
