SystemReset

So, the game needs more public spells, apparently. Let us write and balance some! It will be glorious!
I've added some lists of guidelines about what colours are good at what - these are derived from the current syllabus spells and what seemed to make sense to me when considering the theme of the element. These are just guidelines and are overdue for updating in places, especially in order to balance Red, Blue and Green. --ChessyPig

As per the mandated magic/spirit rewrite at the AGM in 2006, we now have a system! It is at http://www.srcf.ucam.org/tt/system/halfindex.html for now. Please report html bugs and typos to WebsiteBugs and they will be fixed. Please report all other bugs to the refs, whom you should also thank for doing all this work.

OGM / AGM Proposals

Other Proposed System Bits

The below were filed under 'old/inactive discussions'; people may like to revive them now BetaVersion? faff is mostly over (probably as small motions for the OGM or noodling about future ideas), or bury them quietly.

Alchemy Rewrite

Wilderfuge Rewrite

AGM mandated magic/spirit system rewrite 2006

The final document, consisting of the state of these pages (including the external website ones) at the end of Easter Term 2006, has been handed over wholesale to the refs along with a different mind control tree hashed out at the meeting, for them to mash together into a system. Requiem has claimed on IRC that we ought to see some visible results of this within a week from 30/07/2006.

The three above, and the 'Suggested Foo Miracles' and 'Proposed Foo Spells' etc pages linked from them, are the current state of the discussion. They will make more sense once <br> tags self-administer, as they were copied mostly from CURSWiki. If anyone has comments - anyone at all - please add them to the appropriate pages. --Requiem

Can we discuss the above on these pages, please?

ChessyPig's current version of the proposal can be found at http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~mh406/BetaVersion.html - this includes the changes she's commented on the main version that she'd like to make to the current proposal, some extra clarifications about spell learning, research and matrices, and is generally cleaned up and should have everything in one place and in one document.

Old and Inactive Discussions

These are more previous discussions not linked on this page (or in some cases, linked to from anywhere). I'm not sure if this is deliberate, but they belong somewhere. Several are dealing with issues beyond the mandated reset people are working on, or out of date.

Requiem has written up /BetaVersion and /BetaVersionMagic in word-document form, and is going to present them (along with /BetaVersionSpirit and the remaining open questions) at the next interactive. Please do not take his not posting as his not having an opinion. <paranoid ranting removed>

I am getting progressively more worried about the status of 'things that have already been agreed', and suspect that this includes a large range of things which have, in fact, not been agreed at all, which is why I am slightly twitchy about the written-up versions not being available for comment before Friday (when I won't be there). Especially as I spotted a bug in the main BetaVersion? page just today (the lack of a Recognise Intent not meshing with the /BetaVersionSpirit first-level Knowing miracle). --ChessyPig
I suggest fixing the first-level Knowing miracle given people never answer correctly to Discern Intent. Your rewrites of the spells are great, by the way - I've just downloaded them wholesale into the .doc I'm presenting. /BetaVersionSpirit is still a work in progress; the calls system and the magic are mostly agreed now, yes? --R
Not quite, but there should be less arguing late at night. --ChessyPig
FSVO "Agreed" not involving me, possibly. --Jacob
I'm sorry about being aggressive with posts last night. --Requiem
