MarshallEnterprises

NB: Our game is currently rather less sedate, and rather more conflict-heavy, than the below might imply. Not that we're averse to new recruits... just that you should definitely talk to someone (probably Inquisitor) before getting set on signing up.

Marshall Enterprises is a group in the Maelstrom? campaign run by, and mainly comprising, TT members. We're smallish, established, respected, rich and still recruiting.

We dabble in pretty much every Maelstrom subgame (although you shouldn't necessarily expect positive interactions with, say, native-religious-stabby or undead-hording) - but the most obvious game we play is the Trade game. We've got the basics of this sorted, so we have money to invest, and are poking around various other subgames, most obviously the Religion Game, as (for the most part) Weaver followers or one sort or another.

If you're interested in anything related to trade, crafting, or pretty much any salable skill, we probably have the resources and connections to set you up pretty handily. (Indeed, you should expect getting established in this regard to be easy, and to not make game for you.) If you fancy playing the less fighty end of politics or religion, likewise. We've positioning ourselves nicely as fixers and generally useful people to know, without treading on toomany toes to get there.

We tend to play a more sedate game than some (while this remains true, we're increasingly too busy to remember to eat), and have a large tent, with chairs and tables and things, into which an awful lot of people, many of them interesting or influential, step for a chat, now and then. We run a shop front there, and use it as an excuse to talk to anyone about anything. We keep a fire going a lot of the time, and experiment with cooking on it. (This has become slightly less true in the last couple of events, as we've been too caught up in things to run the shopfront full time).

What we lack, that prospective members might want to be aware of, is an obvious driving goal towards which every member of the group can be working at all times. (Arguably, wealth and success, but since we basically have those, they aren't driving us much). You're advised to bring a character with some things they want to achieve (and maybe sanity-check that they aren't too easy, or too unapproachable), unless you're happy to drift along, and react to what the world throws you. Not, obviously, everybody's cup of tea - but what is? Several of the group have political goals in which you might become enmeshed, but it is impossible to make promises about that, or about how much entertainment it will provide you initially.

I will evangelise at length on quite why it is fun if people let me, but rest assured that it is, if you like that sort of roleplaying.

Inquisitor or Pufferfish are the best points of first contact with the group; Pufferfish handles much of the administrivia, while Inquisitor is 'Head of Strategic Planning'.
