Intended to be seven short bullet-points of things that a player new to the system should know about the history of the setting:
- There used to be lots of Gods. In the year ???? all but 15 of them were destroyed, and the remainder were bound into two Pantheons - the "Mace" headed by St John and the "Sword" headed by Humact, with Balance in both pantheons. Since then, two of the remaining 15 Gods merged (Astalon and Ishmund became Justice) and one was destroyed (Triplicity). In ??? the treaty maintaining the pantheons was destroyed, and there are now just 13 gods slugging it out.
- Up until ??? the worship of Sordan and Vivamort was illegal and punishable by death. It was then legalised.
- Up until ???, the city was part of the Kingdom of Wessex. It was then invaded and occupied by the Norscans until ???, and then recaptured by Wessex. It remained Wessexian until ???, when it purchased its independence and became a free city-state.
- Originally, all elves had complete souls, and lived on Atlantis, enslaved by dragon-kings. Then an elf named Caillean The Unspellable performed the Ritual of Elemental Soul: many elves died, the remainder became elementally aligned, and were able to escape there slavery with that power. Our calendar dates from this, it was in the year 0.
- <Some information about the changing of the races, I don't know enough about the details>
What else should go in? Is all this accurate? What are the dates?
Some stuff about the monarchy? There was a brief (few page) setting document with this kind of stuff floating around at the start of the year, I believe. --Chevron
