There were three seperate hunting expeditions/linears. All three were written by ahdok, who correctly anticipated not only the humour level but also 50% of the amputations, which is not bad going.

Expedition 1: The Dragon Hunt

This expedition was the one aimed at hunting down the dragon which had been reported to be making a home for itself in the fens.

Scouts suggested that the dragon had carved out an area of territory for itself in which it was the top predator, with a steady diet of swogs. By hunting the swogs they would threaten its food source and lure it out.

Thanks to a near infinite supply of healing from a well meaning (but incompetent noble) played by Rakdos and a well meaning and incredibly competent (but impoverished) noble played by porange, the party largely succeeded in this plan. Despite some terrifying brushes with death at the hands of Big Mamma Swog (Delvy).

The wingless, roaring, scaly menace eventually came forth. One which could be described as 'a damn big crocodile' if anyone knew what a crocodile was, or 'A Dragon!' by anyone who did not. It was huge, vicious, heavily armoured, with a tail that knocked people from their feet and teeth that cut through armour like butter. Possibly therefore providing a brief moment of joy from any warriors who had not bothered to wear any armour (Ardan).

Some sneaky goblins particularly enjoyed the resulting battle and the opportunity to halt the party in place at key moments- particularly just when they were about to dodge.

Ardan struck the killing blow by feeding it his sword. Anyone who has tried to give unpleasant medicine to their pet by wrapping it in tasty meat might sympathise with his method of doing so, since it also involved feeding it his right arm.

Expedition 2- The Pretty Princess

The 'delightful' young lady Petnuia (Zebbie), as annoying and flighty as she was pretty and rich, had employed the party to escort her through the fens while she took the opportunity to try out a pair of handsome suitors (tea and Chevron) vying for her favour.

This went well for all concerned until the Spearchucker Goblins arrived on the scene to be their ususal backstabbing, villainous, nasty and devious little selves. Which was around two minutes in.

From that point on, the two gentlemen let no kind of sense- either danger or common- get in the way of seizing any opportunity to prove themselves. Taking credit for a picnic basket brought by goblins appeared to place one of them ahead, until it transpired that it was a Devilishly Clever Trap. Fighting off the goblins determined to revive the swooning lady with the kiss of life was probably more productive.

At various times one or more of the party were in the same place as each other or their employers, but those should not be considered representative so much as coincidental.

Alferwen proved herself a dedicated servant of St John by trying to care for the numerous victims, both PC and NPC who soon littered the field. In doing so she certainly saved the lives of all three other PCs who had been downed by a pair of sneaky goblins, as the greenskins quite liked her(?) and wanted her to be their queen. When Alferwen refused this dubious honour, the goblins let the Johnite heal Cecile so she could be carried off to a life of royalty. Damnabale Fae sadly intervened and kept Cecile from her manifest destiny.

Some of the goblins may also have borne distinct similarities to ones featured in the dragon hunt. Other goblins may also have collected hats from downed PCs, which looked very fetching.

Expedition 3- why did it have to be Sordanites?

This group of people desperate or greedy enough to be hired by a party of Sordanite nobles was acting as their beaters and bodyguards.

Some local Crafterites tried to express their displeasure at nobles in 'their' land and a fight broke out. After which Violet patched up the villagers so she could enjoy their pain, while the other PCs tried to protect them from the twin dangers of the ecosystem and Sordanite boredom long enough for them to recover.

There were a pair of goblins being annoying, one of which had been hanging around since the dragon hunt, although both finally succumbed to miracles.

The Sordanites were unsatisfied with the quality of prey available until they were warned about deadly giant spiders in the area, which naturally prompted them to split into two groups and make a wager on which would find them first. It is unclear whether the group which did find them won the bet, since the encounter ended with Abel frozen and beaten to the floor and the others in his group fleeing for their lives / to fetch reinforcements against the freeze-spiders, as the odds were now 2 on 2.

Shortly afterwards the spiders were killed, possibly because they were knackered.

Alternate write up:

Ardan Won.

Some other stuff happened as well.

--Tea (who is sure someone else will provide a more useful set of linear summaries in a bit)
