Paragons; or, I choose myself, Act 1, Scene 1.
In the first aria, the young Frassino Catturaro, having passed his citizenship test, sings of his Ambition to leave the small Catazzari town where he has grown up and to make a pilgrimage to learn about every Paragon and collect the holiest relics from each nation.

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
The Labyrinth is my real test
Ascension is my cause

I will make a pilgrimage
Searching far and wide
The human soul to understand
The Virtue that’s inside

Paragons!
(May the Virtues guide)
It’s up to me
My manifest destiny
Paragons!
I’ll be one someday
As a hero of the Way

Paragons!
(May the Virtues guide)
My soul so true
Ambition will pull me through
I’ll be recognised like you
Paragons!
May the Virtues guide!
(May the Virtues guide)
Paragons!

Every challenge along the Way
With Courage I will face
I’m crusading every day
To claim my rightful place

Ambition calls, the time is right
To grasp the holy fire
With sacrifice I’ll win the fight
Achieve my true desire

Paragons!
(May the Virtues guide)
It’s up to me
My manifest destiny
Paragons!
I’ll be one someday
As a hero of the Way

Paragons!
(May the Virtues guide)
My soul so true
Ambition will pull me through
I’ll be recognised like you
Paragons!
May the Virtues guide!
(May the Virtues guide)
Paragons!
