So it may be run on the 13th. Really rubbish tone towards TT, but that doesn't stop it being a lot of fun right? Anyone interested place names or comments below.

Hello CURS,

For those of you with exams, I hope they're going well. A LARP one-off game will take place on the afternoon of the 13th, run by James Holloway. Details are below. (Note different reply address).

Hi everyone,

As I've already discussed with some of you, I thought it might be fun to run a one-off LARP game around the end of term. We've booked the Chetwynd room in Kings' college on Saturday the 13th of June for the game, and the next thing we need to know is roughly how many people would be interested. If you could email me directly (gonzohistory@gmail.com) it would help with setup and character creation.

Unlike live-action games like Treasure Trap, we use a system without live combat, games typically being more focused on social interaction, politics and investigation. At the moment, I haven't decided on a setting. I'll be picking one based on people's responses, so if you have a preference, let me know!

There are four local games running here in Cambridge at the moment, and we can use any of the four systems for our one-shot. All four are based on White Wolf's World of Darkness games, and are set in a slightly, well, darker, version of our own modern day. These are:

Vampire: the Requiem. Politics, intrigue, and the struggle to remain human in a society of ruthless, dangerous immortals.

Mage: the Awakening. "Awakened" strive to restore humanity's connection to the world of magic.

Changeling: the Lost. Abducted by strange creatures from another world, ordinary humans find themselves changed, with strange new powers and weaknesses. Now they must find a way to survive in a world they barely recognize.

Mortals: the one with the least setting background. Characters are, well, humans -- ordinary people faced with extraordinary circumstances.

Anyway, if you think any of these sound like fun, just drop me a line in the next few days. I'll send out a game description on Friday.

Sorry for the short notice!

- James
