We've seriously rebalanced the hits and damage available to PCs, so we need to adjust how we stat linears to match. Here are some of my thoughts on this.

Warriors will be a bit less survivable (but only slightly - limb hits and armour probably count for more than torso hits), everyone else similar or slightly more. We may want to reduce average damage output slightly, but only slightly? The big change as I see it is that the advantage of warriors over non-warriors in terms of damage output has increased (I worry that a set of changes intended to reduce the "warriors are too good" problem may have exacerbated it, but time will tell). Against global hits this may be offset by the fact that casters now target a weaker location, but against global hits warriors will almost certainly be at even more of an advantage. So I think we possibly want to move away from global hits except in exceptional cases. Clearly, for monsters with large numbers of hits locational hits aren't practical, though, so we can't abolish them.

What do people think of statting monsters with global hits as "takes double damage from ranged attacks" as standard (there could be the odd exception, but ideally it would be common enough that casters would be assuming that they'd be getting they're money's worth unless there was some clue that they wouldn't)? We've just doubled the value of torso-targetting compared to generic damage on local-hits monsters; this would preserve that ratio. --Jacob
