Unbanquet

TIME AND VENUE SET

We have booked a few tables at the TRAM DEPOT, in central Cambridge. Opposite the Anglia Ruskin, south of the Grafton Center.

From 18:30 on FRIDAY 6th of JUNE

The owners are happy for us to turn up and are putting several tables into a cluster. I think we're nabbing half their dining area :)

Treasury is going to subsidise us to the tune of £200+ pounds, so I suspect this will be TT buys the food, you buy the drinks. But we can bicker about that later :)

And so, after 11 years of crazy happy gaming, Cambridge Treasure Trap (the game) is coming to an end. Maybe we will return to it, maybe we will not.

But I think it worthy of celebration.

Thus, as we are not having a banquet this year, I propose an Unbanquet: we book a large swathe of a pub/restaurant and have a big dinner out. With drinks, merriment, much food and stories.

Given that the Treasury is not paying for the banquet, I think it can afford to subsidise (at least) an evening out, to the tune of £300 to £500 or so. Thoughts, treasurer? :)

Right, following consultations and investigations, Unbanquet will be on 6th of June

Several venues have been consulted. shortlist:

The Castle Good drinks, fair range of food. They can reserve us a large chunk of their upstairs seating, no problem. We'd have to be there from 6ish though, to avoid chair pwnage.

The Tivoli Near Staples, north of river. A Wetherspoons. Good drinks, good range of food. They have an upstairs or a downstairs area we could monopolise. They'd appreciate an early reservation.

Tram Depot They can accomadate us [not a very separated area] and seem friendly, but would like booking ASAP and perhaps food ordered off their online menu. Drinks good, food mostly pizza and burgers.

Burliegh Arms Food a touch resticted, drinks okay. Their back area is acoustic musicians on friday, but they could easily reserve a large wadge in the front railed area. Online menu, bookings ASAP

Who votes for where? Voting closes 19th May :)

The Castle: will probably let us book the whole upstairs area. Good beer, well known, not the largest food range. Eraina Taverna: Will probably let us book their whole basement seating area. Haven't been there in years, but had good food. Not known to many LARPers, smaller range of beer, and more restricted seating.
I have been unconvinced about the Eraina's food hygiene in the past, although due to this I haven't actually eaten there for several years so it may be OK now ~~Zebbie
Burleigh Arms: Good beer and food, but not the easiest area to reserve.
The back half does get booked out for private functions sometimes. --MorkaisChosen
Any other thoughts? 'The Tram Depot: Decent beer selection, good food, excellent chips. My roller derby league use it for post-bout things, they are more than happy for people to reserve a large side area. That's easily got space for a lot of larpers.

Attendee requirements: Bring a good story or some happy memories from the years of TT, and be prepared to share it :)
