To be sung to the approximate tune of 'big iron', ideally in thick Wallachian accent.

• Lyrics: To the town of Crayiova marched a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business no one dared to make a slip
for the stranger there among them had a longsword on his hip
longsword on his hip

It vas early in the morning vhen he valked into the town
He came marching from the south side slowly lookin' all around
He's an outlaw from the forests came the vhisper from each lip
And he's here to do some business with the longsword on his hip
longsword on his hip

In this town vas necromancer by name of Vlad the Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men vere dead
He was vicious and a killer though a youth of twenty four
And the notches on his axe-head numbered one an nineteen more
One and nineteen more

Now the stranger started talking made it plain to folks around
Vas paladin of Humact, vouldn't be too long in town
He was hunting necromancer, both him and his undead.
And he said it didn't matter he was after Vlad the Red
After Vlad the Red

Wasn't long before story was relayed to Vlad the Red
Necromancer didn't vorry, those that tried before were dead
Twenty men had tried to take him, twenty men had made a slip
Twenty one would be paladin vith the longsword on his hip
Longsword on his hip

The morning passed so quickly it was time for them to meet
Vas twenty past eleven when they valked out in the street
Folks vere vatching from the vindows every-body held their breath
They knew this poor paladin was about to meet his death
About to meet his death

There vas forty feet between them when they charged and made their play
And the swiftness of paladin is still talked about today
Vlad the Red had not cleared leather fore his throat lay open, ripped
For the hunter’s swing vas deadly vith the longsword on his hip
Longsword on his hip

It vas over in a moment and the folks had gathered round
Laid to rest before them lay the body on the ground
Oh he might have gone on living but he made one fatal slip
Vhen he tried to match the hunter with the longsword on his hip
Longsword on his hip
