- All characters start on 180 XP
- Up to 240 XP, you get 6 XP per interactive and 12 XP per linear.
- Up to 360 XP, you get 3 XP per interactive and 6 XP per linear.
- Up to 480 XP, you get 1 XP per interactive and 2 XP per linear.
Monstering an interactive (i.e. not claiming character XP for it) or a linear gets you 5 "monstering XP". Monstering XP can be given to any character, but no character can get more than 5 monstering XP between one time they are eligible for earning charactering XP and the next, no character over 240 can get more than 3; no character over 360 can get more than 1 (although they don't have to have been given that XP to reset their "clock", just been eligible for it - playing a PC in an interactive and giving the XP to a different PC you also played that day counts). If you play multiple PCs at an interactive, you get 6XP to split, but no one PC can get more than their cap.
- I think one of the advantages of the current XP gain is that it allows someone, who perhaps didn't join TT in first year to get to high levels before they graduate, without having to have their very first character survive --Porange
- Yes. Although actually, 240xp/Level? 5 is probably the point where characters start to routinely get a shiny each and the xp up to there isn't affected. --Zebbie
- I believe that this motion would not help the situation as it means low level character will have even longer feeling ineffectual compared to higher level characters. --Malselene
- I think that the change the starting level xp idea should be split from the change the rate of xp gain idea. Whilst I'm fairly happy about changing the rate of high level xp gain, I like the starting xp levels (including for new players) where they are. --Felicity
- --Malselene, I think you're wrong - I think it would mean that people got to a level where they were usually of comparable XP to the highest level character on their linear much faster. --Jacob
- Unless you downstated all the current high level characters I think all you'd do is put a new character almost forever beyond trying to reach 480 or even 420 or 360 XP. And I don't think that's a direction that anyone really wants to go in -- Malselene
- In the short term yes, but given average PC turnover in a year or so Ariane would probably be the only PC significantly over 360. But yes, I do see that things would get worse before they got better. --Jacob
- I do feel that linearing should reward more than interactives as linears are massively riskier to those that go on them. I would be happy with: characters start as they start now. 6XP per interactive, 12 per linear. Monster XP unchanged. --Drac
