Iska is the owner of the Phoenix, Captained by Vala (who is under the delusion that the ship is hers...) and navigated by Vin (the man who makes the ship go). However, at heart she is a wanderer and so will often end up not on her ship, instead elsewhere, returning after a few months or years as suddenly as she departed.
