Random idea - Hilarious Consequences Larp
Seeing as basically I stalled on this idea and haven't made any progress on any part of it except the bare bones of the alchemy system I'm going to just cut it down to the idea for the alchemy system as a thing anyone can steal/edit and give up on the setting half.
Notes
- it also in many places is made of my thought processes and may conform to what are my ideas of hilarious rather than what is sensible or more universally approved of. It might also at this moment still lack system balance.
- In this system the only true healer is time, which will eventually fix almost all injuries. It hence is not really compatible with settings/systems with magical healings.
- First aid will stop someone dying, get them to their feet and let them limp home at the end of the day but does little to restore them to full fighting capacity.
- Alchemy on the other hand provides ways of enabling people to fight on despite incapacitating wounds. While this may be annotated as ‘Cure N’ to represent restoration of hitpoints this is instead really just ability to temporarily ignore those wounds rather than actual healing.
- The idea is that you collect a pocket full of bits of card over the course of linear as you are healed and then can work out most of the negative effects at the end of the linear rather than doing the complex things mid linear. However it should also reward people who want to work out exactly what they're taking to try to avoid inconvenient addictions.
- This is written as designed for PC alchemist but it could be changed to work for an alchemy shop just selling potions.
