Freshers' Fair!
Still in need of more people, also, those people who have kindly volunteered, please email me with times you can/can't do (or tell me in person). If you don't do this I will assign you some times, you might not like them.
Please volunteer to help out for some time if you can, put yourself on this wiki page and email tt-exec.
Feel free to turn up in kit if you like, the more impressive the better.
- Experience suggests that it's good to have some people in very good kit and some people in normal clothes on the stall at any one time. Poor kit or "lots of freaks behind a stall" never does us any favours... --Pufferfish
Volunteers so far:
- Joey (I can do any time but need to be told which is prefered in advance so I can book the time off work)
- Porange: provisionally can do tuesday afternoon/evening and wednesday morning (though wednesday may be less likely)
- Pufferfish volunteers for setup, takedown and provision of flyers and signup sheets etc.
- Tea will do a slot, based on timetable, bias towards afternoon. Busy Tuesday from 3-4, unhelpfully.
- salavant is keen and willing to help whenever
- Shyndree can do a slot, I might as well pick it, and have the slot before my tutor's meeting. I intend to be in kit. Do you want me to turn up for 10 or 11? Since it was suggested that we might only need one person between 10-11, and I wonder if it should be the one in kit, or the one in normal clothes.
- Jim would prefer Tues 3-7 so he can just leave the lab early.
- Ed would like to help, available Tuesday, but not Wednesday. Prefer early afternoon. (Can turn up in some form of kit, though I don't have that much, so it would likely be a mish-mash.)
- Suggest neat and presentable normal clothes then. Kit for the FF really is the case where "scruffy/mish-mash kit" is a lot worse than "no kit", even where that kit is absolutely fine for TT itself. --Tea
- I would have thought that would be the better solution. --Ed
- Suggest Joey picks one morning or the other so she can book time off work now. --Pufferfish
Proposed timetable:
(Times being to the nearest hour)
Tuesday 2nd October:
- Setup:
- 10-1: Shyndree (will turn up in kit), Corin
- 1-4: Ed
- 4-7: Jim, Porange
(if we can't find any more volunteers, I will take first shift with Shyndree until 11 and then Corin and Megan can argue over splitting 1-4?) --Pufferfish
Wednesday 3rd:
- 10-1: Joey, Greg (kit)
- 1-4: Tea (kit), salavant
If you can't do the times I've given you please let me know ASAP
- Oh gods split up Wednesday... --Tea
- Because Tuesday 10-11 is disabled-and-parents hour, it is very quiet. Therefore the shifts should probably be 10-1, 1-4 and 4-7 so they are all three hours long each to equalise timings. Will change them if nobody objects in the next few hours. We probably only really need one person for Tuesday 10-11. --Pufferfish
- Right, have added some people to slots. We really need two people per slot. Please sign up for slots!
