Drac/Cybergeneration2027

With his hours of extra spare time, Drac is considering running a Cybergeneration 2027 tabletop game. Either weekly or fortnightly.

Cybergeneration : My parents became cyberpunks and all they left me is this darker future.

Cyberpunk is all about distopian near-future - megacorporations, huge wealth gaps, collapsed/semi collapsed society, vast pace of technology, style over substance, easy access to weapons and a lot of sticking it to The Man. It was the RP system that I cut my teeth on, a wonderful world of the morally grey - fast cars, fast fame, fast death. Lasers in my eyes, metal on my arms, chips in my brain, fully automatic weapons with grenade launchers.

Cybergeneration is what happens afterwards. The Man won, the cyberpunk revolution faltered and collapsed. America is now "the Incorporated States of America", a corporate ruled, consumer orientated, police state. Imagine that someone took a cyberpunk dystopia and painted over a shiny "everythings ok so long as you do what you're told and buy our shit" facade over the top.

In fact, don't imagine it, that's exactly what they did.

Cue the rise of Yogangs - as the teenage generation tries to rebel against its parents - it's counter culture all over again, except this time with lots of options and more guns. They are barely tolerated - not enough of a problem to warrant the investment to stamp them out.

Then it all changes: an aircraft crashes in Night City releasing some form of nanite-based techno plague. The plague has a 100% fatality rate for those over the age of 20 unlucky enough to catch it. For those under the age of 20 that survive, they wake up changed and enhanced.

They are something new, the debate rages: mutant freaks, the next evolution of humanity, a corporate biotech experiment gone wrong, a corporate biotech experiment gone right, super-soldiers, just kids that happened to survive. Either way something the government can't easily control so it reacts, declaring them enemies of the state, plague carriers and worse.

That's where you come in, the game is a cross between cyberpunk, insurrection and X-men. You play mutant kids with superpowers trying to survive against a government that wants them dead, working out how to bring said government down.

Access to original sources not required (and they are all out of print anyway).

Interested parties?

Intrigued. Also, I totally have spare time. Honest. --I (probably not really on the latter).
Possibly interested. Time willing. --Hark
Oh man, this looks amazing. In and I should even be able to do most evenings for the next 2 months --kangaroo

Interested, time may be an issue. --Nyeti

Right, I have dredged up some material from when I was ran a forum game many years ago. Good news is that I nabbed a lot of information, bad news is that much of it was scanned with an old OCR package from silly formatted text so is not great.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6HAM7kKlISvdHBLNUk4dEllQlE&usp=sharing is a Gdrive folder with some stuff in, reading this is not essential, but will help with understanding:

ACTUAL PLANNING

Ok There appears to be some interest. Assuming fortnightly game during the week, what days/times would people like. (More pople free to sign up and I will pick evening that suits me + the most people)
