CREATE SUNDAY

NEXT CREATE SUNDAY

The next create Sunday is Monday 5th May. There will also be cake.

WHAT

Sunday: The dirth of the weekly social calendar, and a day that the hosts often waste with staying in bed, spod, and general laziness. In an attempt to change this the hosts are opening their living space up to friends to spend the afternoon pursuing their own arts and crafts in an open space with friends around to chat to.

WHEN

You can come along to Create Sundays starting from 1pm on Sunday, and finishing around 6-7pm (where if there are enough people who feel like it, an adventure to a pub for dinner may happen.) There is no schedule, you can drop in or out as you like. We may go on into the evening if we want to, but this is not guaranteed.

Not every Sunday is a Create Sunday (we may be away, busy or tired some of the time.) Please let us know in advance if you know you are planning to show up, it's worth knowing if we'll be having 20 people so we can make more space.

WHERE

The location of Create Sunday is Sherlock Home, unless otherwise planned. Josephine has banned me from putting a map to SH on the internet, so poke me for directions.

SUPPLIES

• We have a large living room area, with an expanse of floor space, two desks and a largeish table that can all be used.
• We have a computer and a printer, but if you want to do work on a computer we recommend bringing a laptop.
• Joey has a sewing machine, but only one, so worth checking if people are planning to use it before bringing material.
• Dave has a Wacom Intuos4 that is available for people who want to do digital painting, although he recommends you bring your own laptop and software (he tends to use his computer when drawing.)
• We have a large array of stationery and a small amount of paints available for free use. If you want to know if we have something specific, just drop us a note to ask us.
• If you want to leave some crafting stuff in our house to use in multiple weeks, then we can accommodate this within reason. The house is not a dumping ground for your spare crafting materials though.
• We will typically have a small selection of drinks and snacks, as well as kitchen plates etc.

THINGS THAT ARE OKAY

• Writing
• Coding
• Drawing
• Painting
• Sewing (inc. with machines)
• Beading
• Making patterns and cutting/eyeletting materials.
• Knitting
• Crochet
• Origami, so long as it follows Euclidian space and Newtonian physics.
• Papercrafting
• Clay modelling/sculpting
• Cross-stitch, embroidery and needlework.
• Whittling
• Baking
• Bringing your own snacks
• Photography

If you want to bring along a craft to pursue, but you are unsure if it would be welcome, pleae let us know.

THINGS THAT ARE NOT OKAY

• Riveting
• Latexing or isoflexing Weapons
• Croquet
• Composing heavy metal music (i.e. things that are really loud)

Be aware that we live in a flat on top of people, so things that are smelly or noisy or need outside work can't really work.

Please also be aware that we are offering the space and stuff to encourage us to get on with arts and crafts, and be productive. While you are welcome to sit and chat and be sociable, and there is no requirement for you to actually accomplish anything, these sessions are -not- an excuse for a big party. Guests are fully in their rights to completely ignore you and focus on their work, so if you're not bringing something to do, you might get a little bored (especially as the Library is not complete yet.)

THE HOSTS

The hosts are Dave and Josephine. This is our house, we reserve the right to boot you out of it if we feel like it, for any reason.
