Aapep was the Finder of Water for the Khemenethorus, a rough desert tribe from Aswan. Then he found out who his parents really were. Then he married his sister (well, he married someone else first but they're dead now so it's all ok?) or rather she married him. For a time he was then a Hero of Egypt and Chosen One of the Khemenethorus. It was all going OK until suddenly he took the reins. Now he's Lion of Aswan, Chosen One, Deputy to the Overseer of the Garrisons of Upper Egypt, Commander of the Garrison of Aswan.
What that apparently meant was that he got to take Egypt to war with Carthage based on a dream he had a year ago, throw death curses about because they grew a weird tree in one of his cities, see Anubis and Sutekh and find out just how dodge Mum is and use surprisingly effective diplomacy on Meroe and Timbuktu. Ending the Annual being blessed by Pharaoh then getting a pep talk from the General of Thebes... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON
